Day 7: A three day weekend

This is a rare treat for the Bonjours; Matt has a three day weekend!!! Since working for Apple he usually doesn’t have weekends off, he has two consecutive days off but it’s random days of the week. His schedule worked out to where he has three days home with the kids and myself. Today we went on a walk (we love taking walks as a family….always have) and we went to picnic point. Now, it was way too cold for this but we endured. The wind kicked up and Chloe had a constant flow of snot coming out while her hands were turning pink from the cold. She kept trying to eat pieces of ice on the ground all through the trails. Oliver was picking up sticks larger than his stature, trying to poke them at anything that moved, including me and Chloe. At least we had the sunshine.
Later we took the kiddies to the YMCA for a ‘carnival’. It was really a fundraiser for the Y’ and there was madness a’plenty. Kids everywhere! Regardless of the fact that Matt and I weren’t super into the madness we loved being there with our kids. We absolutely love doing things together as a family and I am super thankful that he is home with us for three days in a row. Having Matt around makes my life a lot easier and it feels more like we’re a complete family when he’s home. The kids love playing with him and I really enjoy his presence. I’m thankful he gets to be with us for these three days. After that we’ll both be sick of each other just in time for him to return to work. Hurray for three days!!!
